Dr. Saad Saad is a renowned surgeon having experience in the medical field that exceeds two decades. He is always passionate about reducing human suffering through his work and also being involved in philanthropic efforts. Because of his heart for alleviating the pain of others, he has patented two inventions that would enhance efficiency for doctors and at the same time reduce pain for patients undergoing the procedure. In addition to serving his community back home in the United States, he has been on medical missions in Jerusalem and Holyland and has performed complicated procedures on poor young adults and children. The Catheter integrated with an electromagnetic identification device with the Patent Number 5,727,553 is one of his inventions. Medical catheters are basically tubes that are placed inside the patient’s body either temporarily or permanently. The tubes perform various functions depending on how they were designed and their type. Their functions range from aiding in surgical procedures or treating a particular medical condition. However, it is easier said than done because placing the catheters inside the body of a patient requires that the doctor finds the specific position where it is to be set. MRI and X-rays have been the order of the day when it comes to locating catheters. However, for Dr. Saad Saad, these methods were not so helpful, and he decided to come up with an innovative way of doing things. His invention works like a metal detector where an external location device is used to locate the position of the catheter. When the device is directly above the catheter, the electromagnetic technology involved creates a voltage and the wires inside the location device are illuminated. Dr. Saad Saad has saved patients trips to X-ray and MRIs despite the fact that his invention has not been broadly used. Another invention that he has patented is the methodology and apparatus for an endoscope that would help maintain the targeted area. An endoscope is a device that enables a doctor to see the insides of a patient during a surgical procedure or examination. Since the human body produces a lot of fluids from the inside, the fluids might obstruct the lens of the endoscope. In his invention, Dr. Saad Saad has converted the port for anti-fog to a device for suction-irrigation. The endoscope is removed, and the suction is done, and the doctor inserts the endoscope back after the suction. He has personally used this invention in the countless endoscopy procedures that he has performed. Indeed Dr. Saad Saad saw it necessary to try and make things easier for doctors during procedures having encountered the issues firsthand. Learn more: https://www.doximity.com/pub/saad-saad-md
