Transparency, high working ethics, and improved services are what have allowed InnovaCare to be successful. Rick Shinto mentions the teamwork and corporation as the key driver for the growth of the company. He said that the company is doing its best to live up to its mission statement: “redefining the management of healthcare in today’s healthcare environment.”

InnovaCare has managed to tap into the Puerto Rico’s market by channeling its two affiliates: PMC Medicare Choice Inc. and MMM Healthcare Inc. In 2011, these two affiliates were the recipients of the prestigious NCQA accreditation. This award is only given to businesses and companies whose expectations have been surpassed by the outcomes. The companies have received over 90 percent satisfaction rate continuously.

With Rick Shinto serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the InnovaCare Health, the company has witnessed a tremendous growth in its operations. He brought his twenty years’ experience in clinical and operational healthcare and had contributed to the recent success experienced by the business. When he was the CEO of Aveta Inc., his leadership efforts were recognized, and he was awarded the “Ernst & Young Entrepreneur” of the year.

Dr. Shinto mentioned to PR Newswire that the traditional leadership methods are less effective in any competitive market. He stated that for a company to fully grow and become competitive, the leadership has to influence their employees and motivate them to give their all for the organization to achieve its goals. He said the ‘carrot and stick’ method no longer work.

Beginning his medical journey in a humble way, Rick Shinto has managed to work his way up, from an intern in California to running a multi-billion dollar company. He owes all his success to discipline and self-motivation. His goal is to help people around the world get health care cover they can afford. He has also contributed to the clinical medicine by writing and publishing several articles.

Rick Shinto attended the University of California where he graduated with a B.S. He later joined the State University of New York and graduated with a Medical Degree. He holds an M.B.A from the University of Redlands. Check out
